    broccoli

How do you grow and maintain broccoli for best heads?

A.  Plant stocky seedlings 14" apart, alternating on both sides of the 12" planting area in a Soil-Bed or Grow-Box.  You should be able to plant 52 plants in a 30'-long bed.

Prepare the soil BEFORE planting by adding 32 ounces of Mittleider Magic Pre-Plant and 16 ounces of Mittleider Magic Weeksly Feed mix, and mixing them thoroughly into the top 8" of soil.

Immediately after transplanting feed the plants 8 ounces of 34-0-0, or other nitrogen fertilizer between the two rows of plants, and water it thoroughly into the soil.

Three days later begin weekly applications of 16 ounces of Weekly Feed mix for each 30'-long bed or box, applied between the two rows and watered in.

Continue feeding until 3 weeks before maturity.
